Venue: Simmons Hall Multi-Purpose Room Movie: Painted Skin (畫皮) Length: 113 minutes Come join us for friends and snacks! It's crunch time and you do need a break! More information: During a military operation, general Wang Sheng (王生) rescued
a beautiful woman, Xiao Wei (小唯), from a gang of bandits and brought
her to the town that he stationed. A series of murder cases, in which
the victims' hearts were removed, occurred soon after Xiao Wei's
arrival. This led Wang Sheng's wife Pei Rong (佩蓉) to speculate that
Xiao Wei was a demon and responsible for the deaths. Just as the
situation worsen, Pang Yong (龐勇), the previous head of the army, and
Xia-Bing (夏冰), a self-proclaimed demon hunter, both arrived at the
town....
Based upon a story in the Chinese classic "Strange Stories from a
Chinese Studio" (聊齋誌異), Painted Skin has captured the essence of the
strange world in which demons live alongside human, and which the
relationship between humans and demons remains as fluid and uncertain as
in the relationship between human themselves.

HKSS will be showing Beyond Our Ken at our first Movie Night of the semester! Come join us this Saturday, September 27th, 8pm @ Simmons Hall 1st Floor Multipurpose Room. Come join us for a great movie, friends, and snacks! See you then! (Report yourselves as a guest for Fioni Cheung or for the event HKSS Movie Night to get into Simmons. Simmons Hall is at the end of Vassar St, near Tang, and across the field from Next House. It's the sponge looking building.) |
